The Wonderment of Kwa-Falls-Calabar

The exotic Kwa Falls is one of the most beautiful water falls in Africa.
It is located in Anegeje village in Akamkpa Local Government Area, Cross River State, Nigeria.
It is a tributary of the famous Kwa River also known as Kwa Ibo River, Kwa River or the people's paradise.

The magnificent waterfall is unique for its sparkling spring of tumbling waters that cascade down the aesthetic rocks located at the Oban side of the Cross River National Park where beauty defines itself without words.

There are numerous reasons why Calabar is one of the favourite tourist destinations in the world today. Other tourist sites like the Marina, Obudu Ranch, Hand of The Slain, Tinapa Lake Resort, colourful dance and mouthwatering delicacies culminating in a carnival towards the end of every year. The Obudu Ranch, Tinapa Lake Resort etc are the Footprint of Excellence left behind by the innovative Donald Duke who was the state governor from 1999 to 2007.

There are 234 beautiful steps designed to the Kwa Falls and the waterfall flows into a canopy of the tropical rainforest and mangrove forest which is replete with gigantic forest trees such as, Mahogany, Pine, Ebony, and Spruce trees in an ambient, mindblowing and  jaw-dropping landscape.

The wonderment of the Kwa Falls as it gravitates via an open perpendicular from an escarpment spanning the  extravagant Kwa River course, which flows majestically through Cross River State, part of the old Eastern region of Nigeria, emptying into the east side of the exquisite city of Calabar in sparkles of ineffable beauty.

The River starts her journey from the Oban Hills, within the Cross River National Park and flows Southwards to the Cross River estuaries of turbid and brackish water.
