Ubulu-Uku Rejoices As Gov. Okowa Upgrades The Status Of Ubulu Model Primary School


The executive governor of Delta State His Excellency, Sen. Dr. Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa has approved the upgrade of Ubulu Model Primary School Ubulu-Uku, Aniocha South L.G.A. to a Vocational and Technical College.

This follows his statement on in 2017 during the commissioning of the landmark project.
He rained encomiums on Hon Joan Onyemaechi Mrakpor for attracting such huge project to Ubulu-Uku.

He further reaffirmed the statement on March 31 during the grand reception hosted by Ubulu-Uku Development Council (U.D.C) in honour of Hon (Evang.) Mrs. Joan Onyemaechi Mrakpor for her extraordinary achievements in over one decade of public service.

The event was attended by respected dignitaries as well as the political elites in Delta State including the immediate past governor Dr. Emmanuel .E. Uduaghan and the present governor Sen. Dr. Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa.

In his commendation speech, Governor Okowa lauded Hon. Joan Onyemaechi Mrakpor for elevating the structure of the school beyond the status of primary school.


He then directed the commissioner of Education to commence the upgrade of the school to a Technical and Vocational Education Centre.

We have been reliably informed that the governor has approved the monies for purchase of the necessary equipment for the take off of centre.

Ubulu Model Primary School established by the CMS missionaries in 1904 is one of the oldest primary schools in the Old Midwestern region of Nigeria.

The old school structure has totally been  overhauled and rebuilt by the influence one of her alumni students Hon. Joan Onyemaechi Mrakpor.
