President Paul Biya Could Rule Cameroon For 36yrs After Winning His 7th Successive Presidential Poll.

Central African nation Cameroon has announced the results of the October 7 presidential election in which incumbent President Mr. Paul Biya has been re-elected to a seventh straight term. He polled a total of 71.3 percent of the votes announced the Constitutional Council Monday October 22, 2018.

Opposition candidate Maurice Kamto scored 14.2 percent votes to finish second.
The council president, Mr. Clement Atangana announced the official results of the October 7 ballot today in a TV broadcast.

The 88yrs old president has ruled Cameroon since 1982.
The expiration of his second tenure will complete his 36yrs in office as president of the Central African nation.
