As Ubulu-Uku Celebrates With Hon. Joe Utomi.

The people of Ubulu-Uku in Aniocha South Local Government Area of Delta State felicitate with the Honourable Commissioner For Agriculture and Natural Resources, Hon. (Chief) Joe Utomi on the occasion of his birthday anniversary.

Chief Utomi was born on the 4th of April, to the family of Pa. Gabriel O.C Utomi in Umu-Ikem lineage of Ogbe-Igbo kindred of Abuedo qtrs., Ubulu-Uku kingdom. He began his education at St. Michael's Pri. Sch. Ubulu-Uku, and obtained his primary six Certificate in 1979. From 1979-80, He joined Solel Boneh as an Asphalt Supervisor.
Then between 1980 and 81, he was at College of Education Agbor, where he obtained NCE in history and Religious Knowledge.

In 1986, he was admitted into University Of Nigeria Nsukka, where he bagged a B.Edu degree in Guidance and Counselling. He later emerged as a Liaison Officer for the National Directorate of Employment (NDE), Aniocha LGA in 1987.
In 1988, He worked with Louis Berger Incorporated as an Administrative Officer in Kanu.

In the 90s, with the return of Democracy in the 3rd republic, he went into politics and was councilor of Ward 5 in Ubulu-Uku and was later appointed as head of the Supervisory Council for works.
In 1999, Honourable Joe Utomi made history by becoming the first democratically elected Chairman of Aniocha South Local Government Area, in the present political dispensation.

In his single tenure he initiated and completed many laudable projects.

Construction of lock up stores and open markets across different communities in the LGA.
Construction of the Executive and legislative offices in Aniocha South Local Government Council. He also renovated the Chairman's residential quarters.
His administration constructed one block of classrooms in every Ward of the LGA, including Aniagbala Primary School, Ogbeani Primary School Ubulu-Uku and Abuedo primary school. He reduced unemployment by facilitating the recruitment of numerous qualified persons as Council Workers , Primary School teachers and Non Academic Staff.
In 2018, Hon. Joe Utomi was appointed as Commissioner For Agriculture and Natural Resources by His Excellence, Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, making him the first Commissioner from Ubulu-Uku.

Despite his position, the gate to the country home of Hon. (Chief) Joe Utomi remains open to everyone, as he remains a father, mentor and political leader to many.
