Business owners, DSCTDA to collaborate on Operation Clean Delta project

The Delta State Capital Territory Development Agency (DSCTDA) and the Network of STEPRENEURS and YAGEPRENEURS (NSY) are to collaborate in Operation Clean Delta, a project designed to promote environmental consciousness in the state.
The cooperation also covers the group's One Man One Business campaign which alongside the One Family One Farm project is aimed at engendering the growth of small and medium scale enterprises.
Speaking in Asaba while receiving the leadership of NSY, the umbrella group for people that benefitted from the empowerment programmes of Gov. Ifeanyi Okowa, Hon. Joan Onyemaechi Mrakpor, director general of DSCTDA, said her agency will collaborate with them in the enforcement of environmental laws in the capital territory.

She expressed support for the initiative of the group, noting that having benefitted from Okowa's empowerment programmes, their decision to give back to the society will encourage more youths to key into the government's entrepreneurial programmes.
In his address, Comrade Authentic Ojuwa, president of NSY, said his group is committed to preaching the gospel of entrepreneurship and leadership among the youths in Delta State.
He said they are looking to change the narrative of rent seeking youths by inculcating a culture of volunteer service in the society.
According to him, One Man One Business and the One Family One Farm projects are designed to create awareness on the imperative for diversification of Delta State's economy. Ojuwa said they will take the campaign to secondary and tertiary institutions in the state.
On Operation Clean Delta, Ojuwa said the campaign aims to encourage people to engage in voluntary community service through public works.
The NSY president announced the nomination of Hon. Mrakpor as a General Matron of the organisation, an offer she accepted.
