Robert Gabriel Mugabe Is Dead.



Zimbabwe's former President Robert Mugabe is dead. ZimLive reported this morning September 6, 2019. He died in Singapore aged 95, as confirmed on twitter by current President Emmerson Mnangagwa.

According to Mnangagwa:
It is with the utmost sadness that I announce the passing on of Zimbabwe’s founding father and former President, Cde Robert Mugabe.
Cde Mugabe was an icon of liberation, a pan-Africanist who dedicated his life to the emancipation and empowerment of his people. His contribution to the history of our nation and continent will never be forgotten. May his soul rest in eternal peace.

The former dictator who led the country from 1987 to 2017 was born 21 February 1924.
Mugabe was a former revolutionary and politician who served as Prime Minister of Zimbabwe from 1980 to 1987 and then as President from 1987 to 2017. He chaired the Zimbabwe African National Union (ZANU) group from 1975 to 1980 and led its successor political party, the ZANU – Patriotic Front (ZANU–PF), from 1980 to 2017. Ideologically an African nationalist, during the 1970s and 1980s he identified as a Marxist–Leninist. He self-identified as a socialist after the 1990s. His policies have been described as Mugabeism.
